Baby Shower Food Ideas - Baby Shower Drink Ideas

Too often guests attend a baby shower only to be disappointed with the same chicken marsala/penne a la vodka/Caesar salad menu. Not anymore! Here are some fun baby shower food ideas to kick up your menu a notch!

Cravings Baby Shower - One trend that keeps popping up is a "craving bar." Set out comfort foods that everyone loves - or the specific snacks the mom-to-be can't get enough of. Popular combinations include something sweet, something salty, something sour, something chewy, something crunchy, etc. Grilled cheese sandwiches, pickles (maybe even fried!), popcorn, chips, pretzels - and don't forget the chocolate - for baby shower food suited for all the girls, pregnant or not!

Pickles & Ice Cream - Some hostesses are sticking with a "pickles and ice cream" for the moms-to-be who are having baby girls. These showers are complete with matching invitations, centerpieces and of course, pickles and ice cream! Serve up every variation of pickles, fried pickles, cookies in the shape of pickles and ice cream, and have an ice cream sundae bar!

Brunch - Showers are often held earlier in the day - host yours a little bit earlier so you can serve brunch on your baby shower food menu! Who doesn't love bacon and eggs? You can even get really creative and make French Toast kabobs, complete with blueberries and strawberries on the skewers and maple syrup to dip them in. Yummy!

The Fruit Stroller - Always a favorite, this creation will make a healthy and adorable addition to your shower. Check out our article to learn How to Make a Watermelon Baby Carriage and create your very own unique and tasty masterpiece!

Tea Party - Everyone's favorite part of a wedding is cocktail hour, right? Well, a tea party is like a variation of cocktail hour for a baby shower: guests can enjoy yummy finger foods and hors d'oeuvre like spinach puffs, cucumber sandwiches, cookies and pastries. Set out the hot water and a big variety of tea flavors for an event perfect for the ladies.

Mimosas and Mocktails - So the mommy-to-be can't drink, but that doesn't mean she should miss out and ruin the fun for everyone else too! Since baby showers are typically for the ladies and earlier in the day, serve tasty mimosas and mix up some fun mocktails that will be perfect for guests of all ages.

Rubber Ducky Baby Shower Punch - Learn how to make it here. This recipe is all over the internet and will be loved by guests of all ages! Easy to make, tasty to drink and fun to look at.

Cupcakes Galore - You can always bake a delicious cake to coordinate with your baby shower theme, but cupcakes can be just as pretty, especially when displayed in a unique cupcake tower or tiered stand. You can decorate cupcakes by using colored frosting, candy and fruit, or just dress them up with decorative picks and cupcake wraps.

Candy Bar - You can never go wrong with a candy buffet! Set out goodie bags or boxes, fill different jars up with the mommy-to-be's favorite candies and invite guests to bring home some sweet treats! Make the buffet look extra pretty by only serving candies in different shades of the shower's color scheme. You can never go wrong with chocolate and candy baby shower favors!
