Bachelorette Party Themes

The bachelorette party is a special time for the bride and her close friends and sometimes family to celebrate one of her last days of single status before the wedding ceremony. The party is about having fun and spending quality time together. The maid of honor is usually in charge of making the arrangements for the party, but she should consult the bride to be certain everyone gets along on the guest list. You should also consult the bride to be as to what type of theme she had in mind. A bride who isn’t really a party type of girl may prefer an afternoon of shopping and spa treatments rather than clubbing and dancing the night away.

While the guys are out drinking, gambling and dancing with girls (at least that’s what they want you to believe) the girls can have an equally fun and amazing time with the proper planning and selecting a fun theme for the bachelorette party.

Here are some common themes to get your party rolling:

The Spa Party
It can be as extravagant as going away for the weekend at a resort, or as simple as booking a party at a local spa or even having a spa party in someone’s home. If you are having it at home, prepare delicious food, provide a range of treatments such as nails and facials and tell your guests to bring their favorite robe and slippers.

The Weekend Getaway
Once married, it is often difficult to go away for a weekend with just the girls. A weekend getaway gives you enough time to be wild while still having enough time to catch up and be sentimental. Be sure to keep in mid that not everyone may be able to afford to go away, so check with a travel agent for group rates and be sure to discuss this with the girls ahead of time.

A Day Shopping In the City
Grab a bottle of champagne, a limo and go shopping from boutique to boutique being and sure to grab lunch at a trendy eatery. You all will feel like stars hopping in and out of a limo into your favorite shops. And rest those tired feet from shopping with an end of the day pedicure.

A Night of Sex and the City
After a day of shopping city style, you may want to continue the festivities into the evening. Celebrate with every girl’s favorite show, Sex and the City, party style. Whether you go out to a club, or bring the party home celebrate with Cosmos, a funny porn tape like Samantha brought to Carrie’s, or even give the bride to be Charlotte’s favorite sex toy, the Rabbit.

Love Is in the Stars
Every bride to be is thinking about her future, so why not predict the future for your guests too? Arrange for an astrologer, fortune teller or tarot card reader to give everyone a reading. This is a fun “mood” to set at someone’s house; you can add a ton of ambience with the right lighting, fabric, music and scents.

Looking for an Adventure
An adventure doesn’t necessarily mean drinking all night at a bar, if your bride to be is an outdoors, nature type, camping, skiing, hiking or an afternoon picnic may be just perfect. Likewise, if she’s a sports type of girl, a trip to see her favorite team may be fun as well. If she’s into music or the arts, a night watching her favorite performer may be just as appreciated.

Strippers and Bar Crawls
This is the old standby, which many brides and their parties opt for. If you’re looking for a wild time, this surely will be it, but make sure the bride has the same ideas in mind for her evening. What could be fun for you may not be for her. Ultimately, don’t let her do anything that may jeopardize her wedding day, just because it is her last night out, does not mean it has to be a free for all. Have fun, but keep her best interests in mind.
