Wishing wells are no longer only for baby showers - they're for all types of showers now, and that especially includes bridal showers! A bridal shower wishing well
has become a highlight at the bride's special day. Although the purpose of the party is to "shower" the couple with gifts, mostly for their home, a wishing well is a great way to give the couple the little things they might use in their new life together. You can also fill the wishing well with gifts specifically for the bride. After all, the shower is her big day!
You don't have to theme the wishing well, but it is a fun idea, especially if you're looking to fill the well with gifts just for the bride. If you choose to do so, you can theme the well with something the bride likes. Is she a girl who loves to be pampered? Request that guests bring nail polish, facial masks, lotions and spa products. Does she love to cook? An extremely popular bridal wishing well
theme is a recipe theme - so ask all guests to bring a recipe for the bride-to-be. Maybe she has a green thumb; if that's the case, fill the well with flower seeds, gardening gloves and tools to beautify her garden.
Perhaps you're hosting a Jack and Jill bridal shower. If that's the case, you're not going to want to just spoil the bride - you can't forget about the groom! One option is to create two separate wishing wells; one for the bride, one for the groom. If the groom is a handyman, you can fill the well with different tools for him to use. But it's a lot more fun to fill the wishing well with items that both the bride and groom can use. For example, if they're travelers or just planning their honeymoon, fill the well with luggage tags, locks, passport covers and other travel items. Or you can be a little racy and a lot of fun and fill the well with items to help them plan a romantic evening in together. Massage oil and scented candles are sure to help set the mood right.
Another fun bridal shower wishing well idea
involves creating a setup. You can use virtually anything to create the well - a bucket, a storage bin, a box - but what fun is that? If you're theming the wishing well, decorate it to match. Fill up a suitcase for the travelers, a pot for the recipes, or a toolbox for the handyman. You may also want to decorate around the well so it's easy for guests to identify. If you're choosing the romantic theme, why not throw some pillows and flower petals around the well? You can also simply hang a sign that reads "wishing well" so there's no confusion.
Don't forget to reward your guests with unique and fun bridal shower favors
to say "thank you" for sharing the special day!
