Perhaps you're on a budget, and you would like to give wedding favors, but rather not spend a small fortune. Or perhaps all of the standard wedding favors out there are not quite your style; you want something unique that your guests have never received. Maybe you are a crafty person and rather create your wedding favors by hand - you feel personal touches are important! Whatever your reason for exploring the do it yourself wedding favors category, you're sure to find something within your budget, unique and craft inspired.
The first step in creating your DIY wedding favors is making the decision of what kind of favor you want. Are you planning on giving edibles, or something your guests can use in their home or save as a keepsake? Then, you'll want to start looking for the right packaging. It could be as simple as organza bags or as extravagant as uniquely shaped favor boxes. With so many choice out there, it may be hard to decide what type of packaging to use! Of course, you'll also need to decide how many to purchase. Do you want to place one favor at each place setting, or one favor per couple/single guest?

Next, you'll need to decide on a type of filler for your wedding favor packaging.
Wedding candy is always a popular choice for the bride on a budget: it can be very inexpensive, and everyone loves a sweet treat! But remember there are a number of other alternatives. Wildflower seeds, loose tea, spices, maple syrup, or honey can all be packaged in any of our
glass favor jars. Perhaps you're even going as far as making
homemade wedding favors, such as baking cookies, crafting decorative hand soaps, or maybe even burning a wedding CD of you and your beau's favorite tracks. Just remember that with a little bit of research, a number of these items can be purchased at exceptionally low costs!

Once you have decided on both the packaging and the item, you'll want to add the finishing touches. Ask yourself, do you want to add some personalization to your gifts? Extra customization can be achieved by adding
personalized gift tags or
personalized ribbon. You can even take a trip to your local craft store to find some more add-ons, like small heart shaped charms or faux flower sprays.

Whatever your budget, with a bit of imagination and a few hours of your time, you can create a beautiful
DIY favors that you'll be proud to present at your event. Your guests will appreciate the time you took to create your favors, and you will get a wonderful feeling of satisfaction that you created a warm thank you to send your family and friends home with.
